Also some of the folder names have changedĪnd are the same ie I have three folders called miket. The icon of the folder still has the standard folder icon with the share symbol under it but there is also what I can only discribe as paper icon with the right hand corner folded down, on top of the folder icon. Some of the Home folders of users with Vista and Windows 7 folders are changing name and the icon is changing as well. Now that I have the background info out the way, the problem I have is this The problem has only started to happen since Vista was introduced and has continued with Windows 7. I have a mixture of XP, Vista and Windows 7 clients. Allow inhertiable permissions is checked. I create the users home folders manually with the same share permissions as the Data folder and Security permissions of domain admins F/C, SYSTEM F/C and the end user has modify permissons.

The Home folder is not inheriting permissions and has domain admins F/C and SYSTEM F/C The Data folder is shared as Data with authenticated users F/C as the share permission, with security of domain administrator F/C, CREATOR OWNER F/C, SYSTEM F/C and domain users Create Files/Write Data, Create Folders/Append Data, Read and Execute. Each user has a home folder on the file server under the path of C:\Data\Home\%username%. My file server is running Server 2003 Std SP2.

This is my first post on these forums and I wonder if anybody can help with a strange problem thats is happening on my file server?
